Author: Ships in the Desert
Jeff Fearnside is the author of two full-length books and two chapbooks, most recently Ships in the Desert (SFWP, 2022) and A Husband and Wife Are One Satan (Orison Books, 2021), winner of the Peace Corps Writers Award for Best Short Story Collection. His work has appeared widely in literary journals and anthologies such as The Paris Review, Los Angeles Review, The Sun, Story, and Forest Under Story: Creative Inquiry in an Old-Growth Forest (University of Washington Press, 2016). Fearnside lived in Central Asia for four years and has taught writing and literature in Kazakhstan and at various institutions in the U.S., currently Oregon State University.
