Noy Thrupkaew is an independent journalist who has researched human trafficking and labor exploitation since 2006. She is a senior fellow at the University of Southern California's Annenberg Innovation Lab, and the interim director of the Ida B. Wells fellowship program. In 2015, she gave a TED talk on human trafficking which has more than two million views.

She has reported from Asia, The Middle East, north Africa and Cuba and has written for national & international outlets including Her most recent investigative work published in Washington Post Magazine in October. Sri Yatun’s Escape – was a years long investigation supported by the Fund for Investigative Journalism.
